- Draper, L., & Turnage. M. (2008). Blogmania: Blog use in academic libraries. Internet Reference Services Quarterly, 13 (1), 15-55. doi: 10.1300/J136v13n01_02.
The authors conducted a comprehensive survey to investigate how academic libraries use blogging. This article discusses the relationship between blogging and library marketing. It reports a majority of academic libraries use blogs as news posting without comments functions, and the survey result indicates that libraries need to market their blogs to potential readers. Students don't access library blogs unless they are told they should.
Also, as many authors agree, blogging isn't the ultimate Web 2.0 communication tool, but at the moment, it is most approachable and practical communication tools.
